    Wow! Chris was such
a breath of fresh air! I appreciated his positivity, humor, sensitivity and
compassion! He had good insights about the way he ticks and the ways of others.

His take on not being crappy to people since he knows what it was like to have
people being crappy to him is logical and the way we should all live, but I
definitely know people who don't see things that way. I knew somebody who said
that since she got bad tips as a server, she didn't leave good tips. That way
of thinking is unfathomable to me, but she held to it very strongly to the
point that we stopped going to dinner with her, because it was so embarrassing
to us, since she'd get mad and would cause a scene if she caught wind that we
or her husband tried to leave extra to make up for her jerkiness. I
It was funny how Matt and Chris have
different accounts of the origins of the Nerdist podcast. I'll go with
    Chris.:) C
    Chris being willing to
apologize when he realizes that he was wrong is something that I'm glad I can
identify with. I also appreciate his
    take on cynicism. I
    It's ironic that Chris
said, in reference to Matt, that he
doesn't think that somebody is a better or worse person based on his/her weight, because Matt really did seem
to express that he felt otherwise in his
    ARIYNBF interview. I
    I love Chris' take on
politics. I feel the exact same way.
I loved the commentary on the JMOEs. I'm
with Chris on how to pull a lid off of a soup can. I used to be messy about it,
but I've learned how to do it with no mess and it's changed my life.:)

    Another indispensable listen.

Nobody really knows what narcissism is. Or if someone does, it is one guy who nobody listens to (and no, it isn't me).

My thoughts right now are along the lines they are people who can't distinguish between their personal and representative identities.

Chris is a DELIGHT. Love him.

The weird thoughts you guys were talking about (i.e. standing near subway tracks thinking “what if I jumped in front of the train?” even though you're not suicidal, etc) are called “intrusive thoughts”. Almost everyone has some sort of intrusive thought(s) at some point and they are totally normal. Our brains are weird and we all think about a lot of weird stuff and most of it means nothing and is just electrical impulses / synapses firing, whatever. This doesn't mean we are dumb, it means we are constantly processing information and some of it is important and some of it is not and we do a lot of sifting. ANYHOW, there is also a type of OCD (I think – too lazy to look it up) where intrusive thoughts become debilitating but there are some really awesome treatments for it, too. Maria Bamford talks about intrusive thoughts a bit in some of her work (or interviews? can't remember). There are also some reality shows on tv about people who are afraid to see their friends in person because “what if I grab a knife and kill them?” but they are totally not murderers, they just have OCD, the poor dears. Anyhow, interesting stuff. Anxiety – yay! It's like a hydra.

So far I've learned that it is offensive to call someone not a nerd or to claim that Jewish girls aren't easy.

I guess calling someone a popular girl who also doesn't put out is the ultimate insult.

Come on Alison and Chris! “Going down the Rabbit Hole” is a reference to Alice in Wonderland… you get lost in another world when you go down a rabbit hole, just like Alice.
