Jo Koy stopped by this episode of Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend to talk about all sorts of things including fatherhood, saggy pants, growing up with a schizophrenic brother, his relationship with his father, stand up, VHS tapes, chid support, Las Vegas, Chelsea Handler, negative energy and so much more. We also did a round of Just Me Or Everyone (click here to see the JMOEs from the episode.)

Jo: please to speak into the mic at all times or no table for you, regardless of flip flop on or not on!
I really liked that Jo talked about his brother. People forget that “the (noticeably) mentally ill” are people – they are brothers and sons and friends and individuals. And people aren't their illnesses, even when / though it affects their daily life. I love that Jo is proud to love his brother.

As usual, this was a great episode. I loved hearing Jo's more serious side. Any time someone in the public eye speaks about a loved one with mental illness or special needs, it reduces the stigma and makes life a little less stressful for those dealing with these issues.

I shower the way Matt showers. He didn't describe it very well. You stand basically underneath the water so it goes everywhere, but you happen to be facing away from the showerhead rather than staring at it

I didn't listen to all the pod-cast or anything but I had an interesting thing happen. I clicked on the pod-cast button thingie and the open in new window thingie and I guess I had 2 different players going and it was all jumbled up. I thought my meds were out of whack or that was just part of you being silly. Oddly enough, I could keep up with all of it. I had to shut it all off cause it messed with my head. In a funny way of course.
Never said this before but I too suffer from schizo-affective disorder. It can be pretty rough. Best way I describe it to people is, it's like being around a menstrating woman. Due to the fact that the mood swings are forever going on. Only I don't eat ice cream and call up my friends and cry about Glee. No offense to menstrating women. I'm sure you're all lovely people. Way I see it, everyone in life has something they deal with. Just gotta stay on top of it and try and stay positive. Which is quite a hard feat since I'm pretty much emotionally dead inside. Oh look, a blue penguin. Gotta go.
Michael.
P.S. Shout out to Jo's brother. Keep your head up. Also, love your stand up, Jo. Now then, where'd that blue penguin go?
Great episode! I have a total man-crush on Jo Koy, what a great guy.

Great podcast and a great guest but the number of “Do you know what I mean”s was absolutely brutal.
