On this episode Alison and the Thursday gang (Jenna Kim Jones, Allan Moss, Daniel Quantz, Greg Heller and Jeff Fox) discuss who’s been to a strip club, Jenna’s baby punching Allan, pee bottles, baby farts, adults who “go to the potty,” learning about sex, Greg’s former stand up career, Book of Mormon, having rocks thrown at you while you’re a missionary, couples that fights, couples that kiss in weird annoying ways, Bogle and so much more. Plus we did a round of Just Me Or Everyone.

Greg. Do something nice for your wife. She is absolutely doing the right thing for you by following Bogle. That you don't even have to understand how good she is doing doubles her gift to you!
Now here is the caveat. The market is likely about to crash in the not-too-distant future (although this has been true for many years and hasn't happened yet, so even there Bogle would have been right). Bogle doesn't like trying to time the market, so maybe don't suddenly start following Bogle with both feet right now. Ease in.

I agree with Greg that the Uber driver absolutely shold not have brought him to his car with the intention of letting him drive! Even if it illegal, it's unethical, irresponsible and certainly at least worth a bad rating. I was listening along and thoroughly enjoying this episode when I suddenly heard my name and the subsequent discussion about me, which made me enjoy the episode even more! I am proud to be one of Alison's top commenters and I'll, of course, always have her back! I Also feel stupid if I don't cancel after taking advantage of a promo. I don't like to bargain or haggle. I hate going to places where they say, “How much will you pay?” Just tell me what it's worth and I'll decide if I agree. I have the same experience when I try to get the cable bill down. I feel like it rarely works for me and I give in very easily. Even though I work with kids as a career, I still find myself saying, “I don't have kids” when I'm giving my opinion on subjects about them outside of my specialty. I think I do it for the exact reason that Daniel said; I feel like somebody will come back with, “Well, wait until you have kids” or “But you don't have kids.” So, it's a defensive/recognition thing for me. Alison's callback and timing of “Daddy's going to pee at home” was so hilarious! My husband and I have been married for 11.5 years and we've never had a screaming match and we've never resorted to name calling. The talk about people using “Yell” even if somebody didn't technically yell at them reminds me of the classic parent thing that my parents did which was, “That wasn't yelling THIS IS YELLING!” I hope I never do that to my kids. So Glad Daniel rhymed Uber with Pooper! As always, I appreciate the Frute song Sing-along! Thanks for another terrific episode!
Leeann, way to go! Good job for getting an Alison shout out. Loved your BYOF. Oh and great show as usual gang. Can't wait for #baby and the parents and other live episodes I just know (hope) are coming 🙂

Jenna Kim Jones' new haircut. Was it discussed? I missed it, perhaps, and feel cheated out of a Gal Chat segment,
Pliny the Elder was so named to differentiate him from his nephew, Pliny the Younger.

Let me 'splain. When dealing with compounding interest, a small difference in the rate of compounding as well as the time allowed to compound have huge impacts on the resulting principal amount. Because it is very difficult to beat the market, it is likely that a broad index fund (and broad as in, if you could buy shares in the ENTIRE world economy it might be a good idea) is really hard to beat by fund managers. So, if it is hard to beat the market, then all that matters is getting into a whole market fund as early and often as possible and how many percentage points the costs take off the top off the rate of compounding (remember the part about small marginal changes at the top of the rate of compounding have huge long-term effects). That is what Bogle advocates. If you have someone willing to do this for you, have the common courtesy to give them a reacharound every now and again.

I'm sooooooooooooo behind on episodes I feel like I will never catch up.
Alison – I know you read these comments, but you have a lot of fans and social media accounts (and shows to book and prep for!) so I always figure you are pretty darn busy and don't expect you to respond to them. No worries here about it! 🙂
As always, great episode – lots of laughs and always appreciate that each person is so authentically themselves but you still all get along and treat each other well. And you make it look easy. It's amazing!
Leeann, when they were talking about you on this episode I was like “HEY, I KNOW HER!” lol. Ok, I don’t know you in person but I know you as a regular commenter like me 🙂
