Alison,
I was totally on your side regarding your drama with Greg. While I can see where he was coming from once he explained it, I wouldn't have guessed that he was hinting that he wanted you to let him out of it. At most, I would've thought that he was just trying to warn you that he might have to pull out. If anything, I would have done what you did, because I would have wanted him to feel like he was valuable to the podcast and I would have even told him that it was fine when he said he was going to be late for that same reason, so that he'd know that some Greg was still better than no Greg.I love Greg to death and I give him credit for discussing it with you, but his expectation that you read his mind or anticipate his wishes definitely reminds me of what happened with Carolla. I give Greg major credit for at least communicating with you about it! I'll admit that I felt uncomfortable as the issue was being discussed, but I also think it was super intereting and you handled it so well. I'm glad Daniel brought it home with assuring Greg that you would have been absolutely fine if he had just said, “I'm sorry, butI just can't do the pod today.” I think that was a very important point to drive home. I'll also say that it's funny that women are stereotyped as bein passive aggressive, but I'm increasingly noticing that men do seem to get upset when their mindsaren't read. Maybe it's because men aren't always the best at communicating, so it's upsetting to them that they're expected to do so in order to get what they really want.:) At any rate, I was surprised to learn that my husband is sometimes the same way. He's not nearly as bad as Carolla or even Greg about it, but there are definitely times when I've learned that I was supposed to anticipate that he wanted me to do or say something that he never actually communicated to me. I was just supposed to know some how.:)
How exciting that Trapp Dog will be at Bumbershoot! His Jeff song was fun! I really, really hope these shows will be recorded as episodes, even if they're bonus episodes that we have to purchase!
Jeff's “okay” drops montage bit was hilarious.
Jeff's quiz was also great! I'm sad that all of the quizzes are over now. What agreat run!
I loved that the episode was longer today. It was a mix of fun and drama.

I have the answer for the JMOE about taxi drivers and convenient store clerks always being on the phone!
I am guessing that most of the people we are referring to immigrated to the United States from somewhere far, far away. My husband is from India, which has a 12 and a half hour time difference from CA, so truly, day is night and night is day. The convenient store clerks who are up all night long have the PERFECT timing for calling home to their families. Plus, talking on the phone is super popular, at least in the Indian culture. They seriously call each other like 5 times every day. Which makes me look like a crappy daughter in law, by the way, cause I don't even call my own mother on even a weekly basis. But that's besides the point…
Loved the show!

I loved this episode. Mostly because for 10 seconds I was discussed!!! I love Jeff's drops. He is an under rated part of the show. I love the OK thing he did. You guys always make me laugh. Always.
What did the clown fish say to the sea urchins? With friends like these, who needs anemones?
It's my only joke and I'm super proud of it.
Everyone's assignment is to go find and read the “Askers vs Guessers” essay/blog post somewhere. I think what it involves is that someone who expects guessing wants to feel the other person is trying to be empathetic. The asker is benignly focused on their own boundaries, desires, and expectations and expects the other person to stick up for their boundaries. The problem is when the two different personalities intersect and don't realize the dynamic. The guesser assumes that the asker wouldn't ask unless the asker had already guessed the guesser's state of mind and thus wouldn't have asked unless it was really important to them and would be offended by being denied. The asker has done nothing of the sort and assumes the guesser knows they are simply asking and haven't taken anything else into consideration than what they'd like to happen.
I am mildly surprised that Greg turns out to be a guesser.

Strangely, my mail carrier is always on the phone wen she delivers our mail. We can always here her talking on her phone as she's putting the mail in our mailbox.

What do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhino?
Elephino.
A summer school algebra teacher told us that joke, and I've hated him since.

Jeff writes a great test – nicely done!
Agreed – Jeff is stealthy and sometimes stays under the radar but is a very important part of the show. I really enjoy him!

This was my favorite episode so far. I had to stifle my laughter in my cubicle so many times.
