I, too, was home schooled (for five years) and went back for my junior and senior years. Kevin was more chill about it than I am though. I still have some bitterness about my home schooling experience.
So interesting that Kevin is not nervous by the idea of dying in a plane crash. I wish I could be so zen about that.
I wonder what the next podcast move will be for them once they've gone through all of the GG episodes. It wasn't discussed on this episode, but Kevin has maintained that he does not plan to do season 7 because he doesn't consider it part of the legitimate franchise, since the Paladinos weren't involved.
They seem like very nice guys and I enjoy listening to their pod. I'll admit that it's hard for me to listen to the eps where the guest doesn't like the show. I loved it with Go Bayside (the Saved by the Bell podcast), but since I'm invested in GG, I do feel defensive about it.:) Good for the guys for being more reasonable than I.:)

You missed exactly the worst years of school! What is it that makes you bitter? I'm asking.

I suspect girls have a different school experience, but those years I was relentlessly bullied and picked on. I contemplated (and did a couple barely even half-assed attempts) at suicide, got into multiple fights at school and I'm someone who would never choose to get into fights, considered buying a gun and bringing it to school to shoot a particularly bad bully and I'm someone who would never do that, which is probably why I didn't, etc.

One of my freshman year teachers had us write something secret saying “we wouldn't have to read it.” After we wrote it he then instructed us to hand it to our neighbor and they would read it aloud in class.

Do you assume you missed out on something?

I'm sorry for your experience. That sounds horrible! Maybe I was lucky to miss out on things, but it's not how I felt at the time. I felt isolated, because we weren't allowed to do things with friends, which made it so that we ended up not having friends. We had a lot of responsibilities at home, because I was the third oldest of 9 children at the time of being home schooled. (Believe it or not, my parents adopted 5 more after I went back to public school! Three while I was in college.).
I'll admit that I would have preferred to be home schooled than have the awful experience that you did though. I, however, resented that we didn't have a choice about it, the last 3 years of the 5 were a waste as far as being taught anything and the isolation from having friends.
