My first reaction was “Oh shit, a life coach, I hate life coaches”. However, once Jen was giving advice to the first writer-inner I realized she knows what she is talking about because she's been through some stuff. I can respect that, as well as the good advice she gave.

I just always get worried about friends that go see a life coach when they actually need a psychologist and the life coach may or may not be ethical enough to tell the person they need more than they can provide. I JUST WORRY!!!!!! 😉

Also, I totally appreciated Chef Jeff's contribution and advice to the first writer-inner. I like how he often waits to hear from everyone in the group and then offers up a “well, what about….” but not in a shitty way like some people do (you know, contrarians who just want attention). It totally adds to the conversation and is a sign of his open mind and deep thinking without getting into the weeds. Does that make sense? Anyway, it's a compliment.

I still have a big crush on Greg but think Allan is the marriage material I need. Good thing both are already married or else I would have a terrible time deciding on who wins this prize (I kid, I kid).

I would argue for not taking a firm position for or against life coaches. Here is the argument: psychologists might (MIGHT) on average be more ethical. But they also have to recoup the cost of those years of training that supposedly help ensure their high quality and ethics. Thus, there are never going to be enough bona fide psychologists and the ones there are will never be able to give enough time and attention to their clients. Thus, life coaches. Since life coaches aren't as heavily pre-screened as psychologists, then experience and reputation must be used to screen them on a case-by-case basis.
