Even before she said it, and before Greg invaded her psychic shared space, I could tell Molly was horrified with all the poopy talk.
“Molly plug all your things”?!? Come on man!
This brings up something I've been wanting to bring up. Would you consider doing a kind of round table of ladies on their thoughts and feelings about talking and joking about sex- maybe in comedic and non-comedic settings?
1. DQ is killing it with the intros.
2. Liked hearing from Molly again, but felt like she didn't say much? Was kinda waiting for you to introduce her like you usually do with Thursday guests, even though she's been on the Monday show before. I especially liked hearing her and Greg interact.
I have been using an exercise ball for a chair for 8 yrs, after years of many uncomfortable office chairs , never going back!
great to hear you not stress over baby stuff .get acupuncture (it “worked” for Ms. Laime) 🙂
I would have liked
to hear what everyone's first cassette tape that they purchased was. I also
would've liked it if Daniel had
elaborated on some of the stories regarding his quiz, particularly how helping
Alison find an apartment helped him win her affections. I know their story, but
I don't remember hearing about that part. I also think it would've been fun to
hear how all of those other attempts to woo
the ladies didn't work.
Molly seemed to be
kind of argumentative with Greg. I particularly
felt annoyed about her stance on breaking rules just because you want
to. Even stealing a picture from a restaurant bathroom just because she wanted
it irked me. But then again, I'm a rule follower unless there's a reasonable reason not to follow a rule. I agree with Greg that there are social contracts that should be
followed, though I do think he's clearly reactionary and aggressive about things that annoy him.
Not being a man, I
had no idea that there were social rules for men regarding using public bathrooms,
as far as not being able to go from the urinal
to a stall.
I'm so glad to hear
that Alison has had the epiphany not to stress about the outcome of IVF and realizing
that she's moved away from who she is. I think that not stressing about it will
be a good thing all around, including improving her chances of actually getting
pregnant. Daniel seemed very happy about this development too.:)
Even with his
quirkiness and intensity, Greg does seem like a decent person with a good heart,
as he put it. At any rate, he's hilarious.
I love how Greg was
excited when Allan said that the most
recent ep of Sorry Not Sorry was Allan centric. Greg's fascination with #Al and
Jenna is delightful.
Finally, I'll say
that I was glad to have Al back and I missed Jenna!
Me too! Sitting on one right now, as a matter of fact. I find them to be far more comfortable than the standard chair.
Still interested in the personalities. Is it a male/female thing that Molly sees Greg's blocking move as aggressive and would jump to calling the cops (think of the show ratings!) but doesn't apparently view the causal curb sneaking as aggressive and illegal and worthy of calling the cops on. Greg, for his part doesn't seem to see that he is bristling at the disrespect of it all more than the actual damage done and wouldn't hesitate to give the gun an upper decker if he could find the curb sneaker's toilet. Also, Molly celebrates rule-breaking but the “rules” Greg is “enforcing” are not legislated by The Man but are rules of decorum and equality. But Molly would steal someone's print from the bathroom…I guess to have a print. While Greg is in the men's room giving some douche an upper decker. I want a show hashing out just this subject. Can we get a ruling on the curb sneak versus the aggro blocking move?
I'm so thrilled that Alison is working on not being attached to the outcome of IVF. Talk about a challenge! I think it's a good idea, though. If you don't have control over something, all you can do is try your best to create conditions that will increase your chances of what you want coming into your life and then try to let go and let things take their course. Whatever means they end up using or not using, I know Alison and Daniel will make awesome parents.
I was surprised when Molly said she would call the cops if someone tried to block her from curb sneaking. I thought that was an odd response. Of course, I'm a rule follower for the most part, and my experience is that 911 (at least where I'm at) doesn't care unless someone is bleeding out on the asphalt (and sometimes not even then). The picture stealing thing sounded like something a teenager would do on a dare or something. That's not something a grown up does, IMHO.
Agreed! Both things seemed childish, to report and to steal the picture just because she wanted it, not to mention that she would reak rules just because she wanted to, as she put it.
It struck me as odd and immature, but due to the number of insane things Greg says every week, I just consider the two of them to have similar personality types. If anything, it almost made her fit into the show more.
Just my 2 cents.
It might've worked better for me if she was nearly as funy as Greg. Maybe it's unfair, but Greg gets away with his insanity with me, because he's so funny. I don't really know Molly beyond this appearance and the Monday ep that she did with Alison, but she was only marginally entertaining to me on this panel, which might be what makes me more amenable to Greg.
To be fair, she was shell shocked from all the poopey talk that dominated the first half of the show.
Even after Greg realized that she was uncomfortable (I realized it from here after five minutes btw) he pushed it. If you are the guy walking that razor of being obnoxious and you then intentionally box somebody out of the conversation, I mean, he's fine, but that is a foul call there if we are talking about who did or didn't muscle their way into the convo.
So, you'd put someone's pen they chew on up your ass as your own brand of highway justice? And not just the tip.
I don't agree with Molly about calling the cops, I'd really like to understand that dichotomy of breaking the rules but also calling the cops, but I can see where she is coming from. There is a difference between rules The Man makes up and actual rules to live by and I think that is what she's getting at. On the other hand, theft is kind of a natural law – Allison, did you check your bathrooms and silverware? She didn't say she would be the curb sneaker, just that what Greg did was “aggressive.” I'm not sure if Greg is causing or decreasing actual safety with his move, but he basically said it was going over the top due the curb sneaker's disrespect. But there are a lot of situations where people blame the rule breaker for getting to break the rule rather than blaming bad rules “Why do YOU get to break the rules!”. I think this might be what Molly was hinting at. We need clarification!
I thought she actually did say that she would be a curb sneaker, if not that she did do it.
As far as her being uncomfortable with the poop talk, she claimed to have listened to the show before, so she should know that it's a common topic on the show, therefore, she should not have agreed to be a participant if she was so uncomfortable with the topic that she would feel “boxed in” by Greg talking about it. It's one of the common themes of the show. If Jenna and Al can talk about poop so freely (listen to the Sorry Not Sorry ep with his friend, from a week or so ago, where Allan talks about it a lot!), then Molly should've been able to suck it upif she agreed to be on the show. If, in fact, her contention with Greg started from the poop talk (though I'm not actually convinced that it was), she should've been more of a professional about it on air.
Just…stay tuned.
