The Thursday gang (Alison, Chris Laxamana, Matt Fondiler, Gary Smith, Jenna Kim Jones and Caelan Biehn) discusses everyone’s Thanksgiving, the final answer regarding the bank teller story teased ages ago, how much depression is normal if any, whether you are your struggle or how we define ourselves and each other, interview tactics and more. We also did a round of Just Me Or Everyone (click here to see the JMOEs from this episode).

Alison, all I want for Christmas is for you to stop criticizing yourself. 🙂 No, really. You are lovely, kind, funny, thoughtful, talented and more. Sometimes you criticize yourself so much during an ep that I actually get stressed about it. I think “is that self deprecation humor or does she really believe that about herself?” Or perhaps you are worried that if you don't criticize yourself for something that you will appear in a negative light – after all, you are in the public eye. But regardless, please be nicer to yourself. You are more than worthwhile. Also, that person who says you are “losing him/her with the pet talk” can GFY.
Jenna, it's ok to not tell all the details of your life. It doesn't mean you are closed off. It means some things are private. Totally understandable, especially as a public person. If you want to share more – great. If not – no big whoop. The important thing is you are doing what is best for you. Also, being cheerful, grateful and kind is literally a part of the culture you grew up in and continue to live in. There is nothing wrong with that. The planet could use more JKJs if you ask me – I think you are a delight. Also, you share plenty of interesting opinions and stories on the pod and relate well to everyone. It's clear to me you are a good person, a good friend and a hard worker. Got nothing but love for ya.
