love dameshek. when i first starting listening to adam, i found dave a little annoying. now i love him and wonder what was wrong with me back then. also, kevin nealon mentioned alison looks really good and “glowing”. i've noticed that in the pics on here and adam's site. she looks extra good lately.

I really liked this conversation. I'm fully of anxiety and neurosis, so I relate to Dave really well on this stuff. Also, I am full of existential dread and that makes things extra fun in the avoidance of people category.
Relationships (whether they are friends, acquaintances, whatever) take work. Sometimes that work is exhausting – for whatever reason. Relationships, in order to be meaningful (well, depending upon who you ask) also require some vulnerability. Being vulnerable can be really hard. If something makes you anxious, your brain tries to “protect you” by telling you to avoid it. However, this is often the worst thing to do (because it just solidifies in your mind that avoidance is a solution instead of something that limits your life – it makes the causation of your anxiety the activity you are avoiding). Also, being in public or around people “requires” one to be “on”. We think that we have to be xyz to others / the public when, really, we can just be ourselves while respecting others (which includes bare minimum adherence to social norms, such as waiting in line at the grocery store instead of insisting you are served before everyone else, etc).
Anyhow, a good book about this topic is What Makes Your Brain Happy and Why You Should Do the Opposite by David DiSalvo. There are more – but they are still on my “to read” list so not sure if they are worth the Amazon $. 🙂

I always enjoy the Dameshek episodes. Now Dave needs to come on the Thursday show so everyone can make fun of him for the way he pronounces the word “robot”.

I love Dave and I love Alison, what I dont get is what with all the DFG love? Josh Gardner's songs are pretty good, but DFG is only funny about 30% of the time. Why do Adam and Dave like this guy so much? Alison is a great interviewer and I always look forward to her next Podcast. When she's laughing at something and lets out her giggly squeal, its the best. Gary, Chris, and Jenna ar great too, Matt should just go shit somewhere.. Oh, he probably already is!

Fuck off. Matt's awesome.
Fuck off. Matt’s awesome.
Yeah, he's not awesome. He's not the worst thing I've had to listen to, but awesome?

Shek's the best. I wouldn't mind him being a series regular in the least (like with Jo Koy on Adam's show).
