The Thursday gang (Alison, Chris Laxamana, Matt Fondiler, Gary Smith and Jenna Kim Jones) discuss where Jenna’s been, her history dancing and singing at Lagoon, whether Chris is the male Alison, hair cutting and coloring, butter sandwiches, more things we regret, the number one worst thing Chris has ever done, the whole Dingo Boy situation and the pronunciation of “gusto.” We also did a round of Just Me Or Everyone (click here to see the JMOEs from this episode) and announced the winner of the Citrix contest.

Armchair psychology theory regarding the Dingo Boy Debacle:
Adam doesn't seem to be able to stand a) being wrong, b) appearing to be wrong, c) being corrected by anyone (especially a woman – horrors!). Also, asking him a question, in his mind, is akin to being “corrected” it seems. I think he has a high level of anxiety which manifests itself in irritation, crankiness, being “touchy”, etc. That is also a part of his act, thus his anxiety is constantly exacerbated by his chosen brand. It's a cycle.
I think the reason people feel like they are walking on eggshells is simply because they are indeed walking on eggshells when he is around. Adam can be merciless in his criticism, insults and teasing – and that is just on the show. I cannot imagine what it is like when the mics are off. I would have a nervous breakdown if I worked there, even though I'm a huge fan and think he is funny as hell.
I think part of it is celeb narcissism / being the big-headed boss (although he is much better than some others in some ways, I'm sure), part is his anxiety disorder, and part is due to his beliefs about his own life / rise to success that he consistently misapplies to other people and their situations (especially historically oppressed groups). Of course, I know you know all of this.
Alison, I think it's so important that you do not give him a pass for behavior directed at you that you do not appreciate. Even if you “understand it”. It's not demanding respect, it's commanding respect. Everyone who works at ACS deserves that, and, fortunately or unfortunately, I truly believe the other employees look to you to figure out how to deal with him (gee, no pressure, right?! sorry…). It could be as simple as saying, “hey, that felt like an attack” and leaving it at that. It doesn't have to be dramatic or drawn out or include a five point plan to be reviewed after 3 months. Just make it clear the behavior wasn't appreciated. Adam seems like the type of person that would respect your assertiveness, but if that is avoided instead, he will “smell fear” and be even more difficult to deal with. I think that is why he is harder on the guys than you most of the time (on the show at least) – you have raised your eyebrow at him a time or two and he knows you will only take so much bullshit. But the guys, the guys just kind of flounder and flap their hands and it's like chum in the water. The shark goes fucking crazy. Bald Brian handles him pretty well, but YOU are the gold standard my dear.
I dunno, Just a theory.

I had to watch the dingo boy episode on youtube. First I must say you have a pretty damn good poker face because you didn't appear to be affected by Adam's douchiness.
Fact of the matter is Alison was right and Adam was wrong. He did point out Jimmy a couple of times but not in referring to the Sigfried and Roy characters. He didn't point out what character Ralph Garmin was playing at all so it was a little confusing and I was wondering which one was Ralph myself. He should have pointed out all of the characters or none of them.
