Jonah Ray stops by this episode of Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend to talk about The Meltdown which premieres on Comedy Central July, 23, playing in bands, how he met Chris Hardwick and became part of Nerdist, growing up overweight, meeting his wife, comedy and stand up, guitar stores, the ladies, drinking, Vine and so much more. I am a fan of ARose but Jonah Ray sux! If I wasn't so bored I would have shut off this episode. He is trying way too hard. “Hey dude, I'm not a hipster, I'm just into indie bands, the comedy scene, and cutting edge tech.” He has been dabbling in stand-up comedy for 14 years and he still sounds like an amateur. I looked him up on YouTube to see if he has improved any since I last saw a video of his and the room was full of pity laughter. It makes me sick when he drops names of other comedians like he thinks he is in their same league. I don't think ARose was feelin' his vibe either.

I hope I don't feel the same way about this… Counting on this episode to counter 2 hours of the mind-numbing boredom of work tonight…

This was a really great show! I like how we delved into Alison's musical past(which was very good!). I could definitely hear her band on Jonah Raydio.
Minute 45:15. Real classy. Record store nerds love looking down their noses when it comes to music.

Great episode. I gave The Nerdist an honest chance, as they have very big-name guests most times, but it has a very unclever/unwitty lead (with a teeerribly annoying human laughtrack) and is almost un-listenable. Jonah here was hilaaarious, though.

Uh, I've used my resume to get every job I've ever had. People do care where you went and what you went for in the corporate world. Very glib remarks in this podcast. I'm out.
