Today I was on CNET’s The 404 podcast which is one of my favorite things to be on. The title of the episode (“Where we meet Alison Rosen’s mother”) comes from the way none of us understand the plot to How I Met Your Mother, as opposed to anything having to do with my own mom, btw. You can watch the episode here:
You look like you belong with those guys doing something great
Fun broadcast! It seems like it went by really fast — maybe because ARIYNBF is 3 hours or more. A 30 minute show is so short in comparison.
And Boinkity — you’re The Man for calling in your poem. It was fantastic. And Trapp, your theme song is great. I love the fast beat (and the mention of the pencil dance). RosenFans are so freekin’ talented, except for me of course. I flunked crayons in kindergarten.
But I did write a couple of Red Eye intros that Greg used this week. They were both for Bill. The first one:
“He’s the Lenny to my Bruce, the chocolate to my mousse, and the target of my abuse — my sidekick Bill Schulz.”
And then since Greg has mentioned MSNBC anchor David Shuster on the show several times, I wrote: “He’s the David to my Shuster, the Punky to my Brewster and the godfather of my rooster — my sidekick Bill Schulz.”
So at least my week wasn’t a total waste.

Joe, do you keep an updated list of all the intros you’ve done for Red Eye? The above one is a classic. And how typically humble. Joe is the glue that holds this thing together!

Trapp, I don’t have a list of the ones I’ve written. I think all together Greg has used maybe a dozen of mine. The first one was something like, “If talent were a magic lamp, I’d rub her until my wish came true.” My favorite one so far might be the one Greg used for Alison last month: “She’s so bright the sun often sits outside to catch a few Alisons.”
Thanks for asking!
