21 Responses to Part 2 of my interview with Chad Rogers from Bravo's Million Dollar Listing

Last night's show was a lot of fun! Pat and Chad were both great guests.

I still don't know how I booted myself out of the chat during Chad's interview. I hit something on the keyboard and the screen went blank. Oh well…

I need to find out when Million Dollar Listing is on. I'm anxious to watch the show now. In the meantime, season 3 of Celebrity Rehab begins tonight. This time the “guests” include Heidi Fleiss, Dennis Rodman, Tom Sizemore, Mackenzie Phillips, Joey Kovar (Real World Hollywood), Kari Ann Peniche (former Miss World, Sex Rehab alumnus and a real witch) and country singer Mindy McCready. Heidi Fleiss once filed domestic viiolence and abuse charges against Sizemore. I'm sure they'll get along fine here.

It was great seeing you back on RedEye Alison, and the interviews with Chad Rogers and Pat Kiernan were really terrific too. Hopefully, TV producers are noticing what a talented interviewer you are!

It was incredible when Joe kicked himself out! I was holding down the fort! It's a challenge though, that's for sure! Sometimes the comments move so fast it's hard to hit the right one! So I'm saying it was a mere accident that I kept on banning Joe, Boinkity and Ted!

Seriously, it is a challenging thing to do. It's like being a bouncer in a bar. You don't want to be some ustream nazi and make everyone stand at attention. They're there to have fun, so you try to hold off until it seems like they cross a line. Hopefully, I did a good job! I was honored to be chosen!

Trapp, I agree. You don't want to kick people unless they're really being annoying or abusive. But you can also give them a “time out” so they can't post messages for 5 minutes (they can still watch and listen to the show). There was one person on Wednesday who kept posting really annoying messages, things like “This is boring” or “Stop talking to him” or “Do something exciting”. After a while I figured he needed a time out and he was better after that. So I'm tending to do that more these days instead of kicking people.

And it's funny how you can sometimes tell just by they way people type that they're drinking or they're on something. Not so much this week but last week there were a couple of people who could hardly type a single word correctly.

A lot of the people who come into the chat don't know who Alison is (we should pity them!) and that's why every so often I post her web site address. I hope I'm not being too annoying with that. We want to turn them into die-hard RosenFans!

Perhaps I'm biased, but Joe, you aren't being too annoying with that! And
thank you (and Trapp and Ted) for the great moderating! I've been watching
some other Ustream shows and I notice they get similar, “Who are you, are
you famous?” comments too. They also get those people that come in and say,
“There is someone behind you” and also, “Can you say [weird word]” or “Can
you put a shoe on your head? Can you touch your nose?” It's bizarre… and
    widespread!

You know we got your back….when the chat gets going really fast, it's hard to keep up with what people say though. I don't know how you do it! Also, I learned that I had to sometimes click on the viewers or moderators tab on occasion so it reflected who was in the chat room. I couldn't find people to kick sometimes…probably just me.

Too bad there wasn't a “Frequently Asked Questions and Answers” box that was placed right next to the chat room.

    Example:

Who are you? – A Goddess

Are you a Celebrity? – Duh!

How old are you? – 23

Are you on TV? – If you are lucky

Nice eyebrows! – If someone makes one more comment about my eyebrows, I'm going to “hiiiiyah” your ass!

  11. Joe January 8, 2010 at 10:01 am #

    HA.. that FAQ is perfect!

Yeah, a lot of people on Ustream must just start watching shows without really knowing who the host is. I may jump into some chat rooms this weekend and ask people how old they are.

Did anyone watch Celeb Rehab last night? Pretty amazing. VH1 will replay it a lot over the next week, so try to catch it.

  12. alisonrosen January 8, 2010 at 10:06 am #

Haha! Definitely ask how old they are! And yes, I caught Celeb Rehab. Oh
boy. Poor Heidi Fleiss. Tough to watch. (Unlike Jersey Shore which is so
    easy to watch!)

Joe, your occasional posting of the twitter and website URL are perfect. That frees up Alison to do what she does best…to just be herself on there.
