I dreamed a terrible joke

Usually when you make up jokes in your sleep they don’t hold up (though they’re always hilarious at the time) but I woke up with the following humdinger going through my head and I think it actually works:

“My boss says I’m an ‘inventive writer’ [pause] I make up all my facts!”

Should I ever being doing dinner theater on some cruise ship full of journalists I’ll be sure to use that one.

(or did I hear this somewhere and just think I came up with it?)

If I was on a cruise ship sucking down a Margarita, I’d give the thumbs up to you for that one.

It’s funny, when I dream, it usually doesn’t involve jokes. Maybe, I’ll just let my creative side go a bit more.

The mini demo reel has reappeared! wOOt up Y’all!

Later Peeps! Have a great Saturday! I’m signing off from the accounting office!

I do the same thing with music… dream an awesome song and write it down in the middle of the night. In the morning I usually wonder what the hell I was thinking. Not a bad joke though; a nice exception to my ‘people’s dreams are like people’s babies- they are never as interesting as you think’ rule.

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode “The Heart Attack.” At the very beginning, Jerry wakes up in the middle of the night laughing. He reaches for a pencil and paper on his nightstand and writes it down, laughing the whole time.

The next morning he can’t read his writing and spends the rest of the episode trying to figure out what it says. “Ful-hel-mo-nen-ter-val?”

Finally at the very end he’s watching a SciFi show on TV and remembers what it is he wrote down. In the show was the phrase “Flaming Globes of Sigmond” and he thought it was funny (for some reason). He realizes it isn’t funny at all and throws the paper away.

A couple of weeeks ago after watching Red Eye and lying in bed, I thought of a great intro. Couldn’t remember it the next day. Still can’t.
