Hot Seat with Noah Baumbach

Thanks to everyone for the nice thoughts. I even said to my dad this morning “the people who comment on my blog are so nice!” I really appreciate it. Anyway, here’s my interview with Noah Baumbach.

Excellent interview. I’m not familiar with his work, but I kinda feel I can relate to his brand of humor. I sometimes get weird looks from people when I fire off something. Then I have to stop and explain myself. Then they’re like, “ohhhh, Okay.” It’s frustrating at times, but I yam who I yam and that’s all that I yam. Like right now, I’m finding humor in the fact that I just made this about me. Anyway, I’m glad that we bloggers were able to bring you a little sunshine, in a difficult situation. I think you have made us comfortable in warming up to you. You’re one of a kind Ali. Well, have a good rest of your evening all. I had a “bit”, about fruitcake but I’ll save it for another time. teehee.

I’ve never heard of the guy…but I applied Six degrees of Kevin Bacon and everything was put into perspective:

Bacon, kevin appeared in Destination Anywhere which starred Sciorra, Annabella who appeared in Highball which was directed by Baumbach, Noah

I could add Jennifer Jason Leigh and Phoebe Cates into the equation but that would bring up to many fond memories from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. 🙂

Another great interview Alison. I enjoyed his movie The Squid and the Whale too.
    “I’m a Philistene”
“No, you enjoy books and things.”
    Great work!

He also co-wrote “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” with Wes Anderson. It’s hilarious and one of my favorites. I don’t know why I have not gotten around to seeing “The Squid and the Whale” yet. Shame on me. Jeff Daniels is supposed to be amazing in it.
