Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend

I updated something! Yay for me!

Written by Alison | May 23rd, 2011 at 2:17 pm | Comments

I updated the upcoming appearances page on this here web site. I am truly getting shit done today!

Also I’m writing something vaguely funny-ish which I was going to post here but then I realized it would work as an installment of my McSweeney’s column so I’m going to send it to them when I finish it. But I’m telling YOU about it so you can begin to carve out the many minutes it will take to read and enjoy it. Like, at least ten.

Also I turned down a job for which I would have had to fly across the country and miss an episode or two of the podcast. But it would have been some money. But I still didn’t feel right about missing work. I hope I made the right decision. I did, right? In my gut this decision felt right. This is me talking out loud.

This is me typing.

THIS IS ME TYPING IN ALL CAPS.

Ok, bye.

Wow you are dedicated Alison! Shame Adam turned down that radio gig. Would have been cool to hear the 3 of you on a real radio show making the bigger bucks. Anyway thanks for the laughs. Adam couldn't have chosen a better news girl.

Hey, wasn't the poster mispelling Bryan's name (as "Brian") earlier?  Good on whoever for fixing it.

    Hi Alison,

This message is for Ace about the Albert Brooks Interview.

ACE, this is why you never interview idols in life.  Albert Brooks has produced great work but is a Super Douche!   I realize the last credible movie you did was Defending you life......but come on.  Have some respect for modern work.  We have things called cell phones now, you don't have to listen to the land line.  I can sum up Albert Brooks in two words.....pre 1991-genius, after 1991 douchbag.  There is a reason big studios won't pay you $60 million today, because you are not funny.  P.S. aAdam if you are still doing podcasts after 10 years go kill yourself!
You are much smarter and hotter than Teresa!

I like your commitment to the show! Vaguely Funny-ish? Sounds like someone just came up with the name of her new book!

Going with your gut instinct is usually better than over-thinking things. You are intelligent and should trust your instinct. Your co-hosting job is a great gig that will pay off in the end.
We enjoy your humor and contributions to the show!
    Keep smiling and CHEERS!

    you made the correct decision...

  • SprechenSieDouche

you should have taken the job

  •  Stick to your gut/guns.

  • Fonduzzi Fred

Depends on what the job was.  If it was an audition to be Robin Quivers' replacement, then quick, call back and say you changed your mind!

if Bryan gets occasional days off for his chemo, you should get days off for your career! But really you should be able to take a couple days off if you need to.

  • ChoHorpe

Always go with the gut, and ask your brain for directions.

  • remman

I would have gone with the money if it was ok with your boss.

  • Dan

Selfishly, I think you did the right thing 'cause we get to hear you a couple days more than if you had accepted it. You do miss out on the flight miles though... Looking forward to your next vlog!
