Seeing Momma Rosen RAWKED! I like when she gets out of her shell and lets us interact with her. She's sooo cute! (I mean Momma Rosen... not Alison... but Alison is cute too I suppose)

An unsuspecting customer pulls up to the drive-through window. But instead of a store clerk, up pops two paws, deep brown eyes and the tongue-flapping grin of a happy chocolate Labrador retriever named Cody.
I know. I forgot to comment on the Momma Rosen sighting. They're so rare!

But I'm hoping she'll be there tomorrow morning when I drop off the Thanksgiving fruit basket. Maybe I'll even get a kiss-on-the-cheek from Momma Rosen (and make Pappa Rosen a little jealous).

Return to Balboa Island... yay! I love the decorations on the house right at 1:58.

I remember from the research I did last time that the Balboa Island Christmas Boat Parade began on December 23, 1908, when a gondolier named John Scarpa organized eight canoes and his own gondola, all lighted with Japanese lanterns, to ceremoniously sail around the bay. This year the parade will be Dec 16 to 20 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.

OK, I didn't really remember that from last time. I had to look it up again.

Another fun fact... owners of yachts in Newport Harbor included Errol Flynn, Humphrey Bogart, Dick Powell, Shirley Temple, James Cagney, Mae West and Alison's friend John Wayne.
