Actually, I kind of like Postum

When you’re a little kid and you go to Las Vegas for family vacations—which isn’t all that fun, by the way, though Circus Circus is/was mindblowing—you drink this or tomato juice. Gawker says it’s coming back. I didn’t realize it went away. I think there’s probably a 25 year old jar of it in my parents’ cupboard.

    I like Postum too but my parents told me it gives you cancer. Something about consuming burned food.

    When I was a kid, I remember there was a really cool water park on the strip. It was across the street from Ceasars Palace. I can't believe they took that out! It was so much fun!

    Circus Circus was fun as a kid...not so much as an adult!


    Ted Goodlove Factoid: I don't drink coffee...can't stand it! I think it stunts your hair growth! Just an FYI for that segment of the RosenFan demographics.

    When we made our family trip to Nevada my parents decided a side trip to the Mustang Ranch might be fun. Oddly enough, there were no horses there. Bunny Ranch... Not a single rabbit.

    Hahaha... I was just thinking about lawn darts and remembered a funny incident from high school.


    I was on the track team for a couple of years and one year we had a guy on the team who always seemed to be in his own little world. I think he was a freshman - I don't even remember his name now. Nice guy, but just a little off center. Well, one day we had a track meet at another school. The running events were going on while in the infield they were doing the other events, including the javelin.



    You guessed it - someone threw the javelin and almost hit our teammate, who was walking across the field, thinking some deep thoughts, marching to his own drummer. He almost graduated a few years early. I don't think it really came THAT close to him, but it was still pretty funny. He was totally oblivious to what was going on around him, right out there in the target zone.

    I wouldn't drink too much Postum before playing lawn darts. Or maybe that would make the game more interesting.



    Also I confess to Alison, I have no idea what Postum is, but instant coffee does not sound appealing.

    When are they going to bring back lawn darts? They've been banned for 20 years - it's time to get them back in the stores.


    Sure they can cause skull punctures and other horrible injuries, but doesn't everything in life involve some level of risk? And if you aren't smart enough to get out of the way of flying, slow-moving projectiles, well... maybe you shouldn't be walking around anyway.



    No, I don't really mean that. But it's Thursday and it's been a long week. It's good to vent.

    At first I thought it was like Fiberone or other another fiber source but now i'm just not sure. Is it coffee?


    I can't even remember back to things like that in my childhood, and damn i'm only 23. I assume we just had Quick and normal coffee.



    I hope to see more of these little diddies today because I'm gonna be watching "La Historia del Metal" and "My Super Sweet 16 the movie" for the next 3 hours it seems.
