new money

Ironically, my first thought upon receiving the new five dollar bill with its eggplant hued frippery was, “Is this counterfeit?”

They take some getting used to. I was hoping they’d put Jimmy Carter on the new $5 bills. Lincoln’s been dead for several years now – let’s move on. :o)

I haven’t seen this new frippery money of which you speak!

Word of the day – Frippery: something showy, frivolous, something foolish or affectedly elegant

I almost never use cash. For the longest time I’d do double takes when I handled money thinking there was coolaid or something spilled on my cash.

Oh I know this money. It’s like a Canadianized version. The first time I ever went to Canada. I traded some money in. I thought the guy was giving me fake money. same thing happened with this. I’ll take old bills thank you. I’d marry old money if it were legal. And I’d move to a Bogart movie and wear a fedora.
